# Senior DevOps Machine Learning Engineer

## About the Role

ServiceNow is seeking a **Senior DevOps Machine Learning Engineer** to join its Advanced Technology Group (ATG), a customer-focused innovation organization building intelligent software and AI-powered work experiences. The role combines **Machine Learning, AI engineering, software development, and DevOps** to build scalable cloud-based solutions that improve enterprise services, user experiences, and workflow efficiency.

You will work alongside developers, product managers, quality engineers, researchers, applied scientists, and product owners to design, implement, test, deploy, and operate high-quality AI/ML solutions. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, production Kubernetes experience, and the ability to independently support reliable services in production environments.

## Key Responsibilities

• * Build cloud-based **AI/ML solutions** that power intelligent enterprise services.
• * Develop AI and Machine Learning solutions that improve user experience and enterprise workflow efficiency.
• * Collaborate daily with developers, product managers, quality engineers, and other cross-functional teams.
• * Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and translate them into high-quality software.
• * Own software throughout the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and delivery.
• * Build and operate services in production **Kubernetes environments**.
• * Implement and manage **Helm-based deployments** and CI/CD pipelines that enable repeatable and safe releases and rollbacks.
• * Own observability for developed services, including meaningful metrics, useful logs, tracing, and customer-impact-focused alerts.
• * Independently debug and resolve production incidents.
• * Participate in on-call responsibilities and operate services against defined **service level objectives (SLOs)**.
• * Conduct **root-cause analysis (RCA)** for production incidents.
• * Build new products involving challenging algorithms.
• * Develop efficient, object-oriented, modular, maintainable, and high-quality software.
• * Apply core AI/ML techniques and algorithms.
• * Perform unit testing, profiling, and code tuning to improve software quality and performance.

## Required Qualifications

### Technical Skills

• * Expertise in **Go or Python**.
• * Strong understanding of **design patterns**.
• * Strong knowledge of **time- and space-efficient algorithms**.
• * Experience deploying, scaling, and operating services in **production Kubernetes environments**.
• * Experience with **Helm-based deployments**.
• * Experience with **CI/CD pipelines** and safe, repeatable software releases.
• * Experience with production observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting.
• * Ability to independently debug and resolve production incidents.
• * Experience with on-call operations and root-cause analysis.
• * Experience building products involving challenging algorithms.
• * Expertise in efficient, object-oriented, modularized, and quality software development.
• * Knowledge of core **AI/ML techniques and algorithms**.
• * Knowledge of **unit testing, profiling, and code tuning**.

## Preferred Qualifications

• * Confident use of AI coding assistants such as **GitHub Copilot or Cursor**.
• * Ability to critically review AI-generated code for logic errors, security anti-patterns, edge cases, and production readiness.
• * Experience with **AI-assisted debugging and trace analysis**.
• * Clear understanding of data privacy requirements governing information entered into AI prompts.

## Compensation & Benefits

For positions in this location, ServiceNow offers:
