About The Role

The Staff AI/ML Engineer role at CACI offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about pioneering research and development in artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this position, you will be instrumental in prototyping, developing, and deploying advanced AI/ML algorithms across multiple disciplines including object detection, natural language processing, time series analysis, reinforcement learning, and large language models. You will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team committed to pushing the boundaries of AI technology and applying it to real-world problems. Your expertise will contribute to developing solutions that enhance operational efficiency, security, and decision-making capabilities for national security and defense applications.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI/ML development
  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, Lightning, OpenCV, NumPy, and Polars
  • Hands-on experience with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Strong background in deep learning architectures
  • Experience working with version control systems like Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket

Desired

  • Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical discipline
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with MCP, Microsoft Agent Framework, HuggingFace, LangChain, and OpenCV
  • Knowledge of GenAI Ops techniques and frameworks such as LangFuse, MLFlow, and Arize Phoenix
  • Deep understanding of LLMs, Transformers, YOLO, GANs, and Reinforcement Learning
  • Linux and AWS cloud computing experience, including EC2, S3, Lambda
  • Proficiency with CUDA and related Python libraries like CuPy, Numba, CuSignal, CuDF
  • Experience in application deployment, virtualization, and containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher

Responsibilities

Implement machine learning algorithms as part of a small, interdisciplinary team, contributing to the development of innovative AI solutions tailored to complex operational challenges.

Analyze large, multi-domain datasets that include images, text, time series, and graph data to extract actionable insights and improve model performance.

Review and incorporate the latest research publications to ensure the team’s work remains at the forefront of AI/ML advancements.

Create comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and deployment procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational deployment.

Understand and optimize training and deployment pipelines, leveraging cloud services such as AWS to ensure scalable and efficient AI system operations.

Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes skill development and knowledge transfer.
