Long/Short Equity Analyst
Miami, FL | ~$200mm AUM Value-Oriented Hedge Fund
A value-oriented long/short equity hedge fund with approximately $200 million in assets under management is seeking an Investment Analyst to work directly alongside the Founder and Portfolio Manager.
The firm employs a flexible, fundamentals-driven investment approach, investing across sectors and market capitalizations with a long-term investment horizon. Unlike many larger platform environments, analysts are encouraged to pursue the best ideas regardless of sector, develop high-conviction views, and contribute directly to portfolio construction.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct deep fundamental research on prospective and existing investments.
Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks.
Generate and present actionable long and short investment ideas.
Perform channel checks, speak with industry participants, and develop differentiated investment insights.
Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and company-specific developments.
Work directly with the Portfolio Manager on portfolio construction, position sizing, and risk assessment.
Contribute to all aspects of the investment process from idea generation through portfolio monitoring.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience at a hedge fund, long-only asset manager, or leading sell-side equity research platform.
Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills.
Demonstrated passion for public market investing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of intellectual curiosity, humility, and integrity.
