  • About the Role
  • Our client is seeking a Letter of Credit Analyst/Associate to join its Trade Finance operations team in New York. The Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of all activities related to letters of credit, supporting both import and export flows in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Issue import documentary and standby letters of credit, and process related amendments.
  • Advise and confirm export documentary and standby letters of credit, and execute payments associated with these instruments.
  • Conduct relevant transaction processing controls, including compliance checks (anti-boycott regulations, OFAC, AML, red flag indicators) and obtaining required approvals from Middle and Front Offices when applicable.
  • Perform daily cash reconciliation of all USD and foreign currency activities.
  • Invoice clients, apply received fees, and provide daily updates to clients on letters of credit activity.
  • Deliver high-quality service to customers in accordance with agreements, ensuring adherence to all processes, policies, and controls.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Middle Office, Front Office, Compliance, Finance, and other stakeholders. Review and respond to all email inquiries promptly.
  • Profile & Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience; beginner-level exposure to Letters of Credit required
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Accounting background is a major advantage (daily USD/FX reconciliation)
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; knowledge of Loan IQ and SWIFT a major advantage
  • Knowledge of ICC rules: UCP 600, ISP98 (ICC Pub 590), URR (ICC Pub 525), URC (ICC Pub 522)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Organized, proactive, highly motivated, with consistently professional conduct
  • Ability to deliver accurate results under time constraints in a fast-paced environment
