Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Materials Management Analyst (Lead Supply Chain Materials Analyst) to lead strategic materials planning, inventory optimization, and supply risk mitigation in Boyne City, MI. In this critical supply chain leadership role, you will be responsible for streamlining materials requirements planning across multi-site operations, developing predictive demand models, and partnering with procurement teams to guarantee uninterrupted production flow while optimizing working capital.
Key Responsibilities:
- MRP & Inventory Strategy: Lead multi-site Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and inventory allocation strategies to maximize order fill rates and optimize inventory turnover.
- Predictive Demand Modeling: Build advanced predictive models to forecast material demand, calculate dynamic safety stock levels, and minimize obsolete or excess inventory.
- Supplier Risk & Buffer Stock: Partner with strategic procurement and supplier management teams to evaluate lead-time vulnerabilities, establish vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and negotiate buffer stock agreements.
- BI Dashboards & Data Analytics: Design and maintain real-time supply chain performance dashboards using BI tools to track key metrics such as inventory turns, carrying costs, and lead-time variances.
- Root-Cause Analysis: Direct root-cause analyses on material shortages, stockouts, and production bottlenecks, implementing corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives, pull-system deployments (Kanban), and material flow optimizations across warehouse and manufacturing facilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive materials planning, supply chain analytics, demand planning, or production control experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
- ERP Mastery: Advanced proficiency with enterprise ERP systems (SAP MM/PP modules strongly preferred) and standard MRP execution tools.
- Analytics & Visualization: High mastery of data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced MS Excel capabilities (VBA, SQL, complex financial/statistical functions).
- Core Competencies: Deep understanding of Lean inventory concepts, safety stock formulas, pull systems, and supply chain network modeling.
- Leadership & Communication: Exceptional analytical, presentation, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic decision-making skills.
