We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.Job Title: Lead Financial Analyst (Utilities / SEC Reporting / Regulatory Finance)
• Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid - Tuesday to Thursday Preferred | Remote Candidates Considered)

• Job Description
• We are seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to support financial reporting, SEC filings, and regulatory finance activities for a leading regulated utility company. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, supporting SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings, interpreting accounting guidance, assisting with regulatory filings, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably within the regulated utilities or energy industry, along with a solid understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and regulatory finance.
• Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and support SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and analytical studies.
• Analyze historical, forecasted, and pro-forma financial data.
• Research and interpret new accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Support regulatory filings, rate cases, testimony, and data requests.
• Prepare regulatory schedules and financial analyses.
• Review financial statements and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Perform variance analysis and financial trend analysis.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Regulatory, and Business Units.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain thorough documentation supporting financial reporting activities.
• Provide recommendations based on financial analysis and reporting requirements.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another Business discipline.
• 4+ years of Accounting, Finance, Regulatory Finance, or Financial Reporting experience.
• Experience preparing or supporting SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
• Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using financial reporting systems and ERP applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred Qualifications
• CPA (Preferred)
• Experience in Regulated Utilities, Energy, Electric, Gas, or Power industry.
• Experience supporting regulatory filings and rate cases.
• Knowledge of regulatory accounting.
• Experience working with external auditors.

Pay rate: $61.02-$74.80/Hour
