- Position Summary
- Winston Capital is seeking an experienced Lead Loan Analyst to support the underwriting and analysis of real estate lending transactions. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of banking, commercial lending, credit, underwriting, or portfolio management experience, with a strong background in commercial real estate.
- Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite commercial and residential real estate loans and evaluate overall credit risk.
- Review financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, bank statements, and borrower financials.
- Analyze cash flow, liquidity, leverage, DSCR, LTV/LTC, sources and uses, collateral, and repayment capacity.
- Evaluate property performance, market conditions, collateral values, and exit strategies.
- Prepare credit memos, loan summaries, financial models, and recommendations for management.
- Review appraisals, title, insurance, environmental reports, and other due diligence.
- Coordinate with borrowers, brokers, attorneys, appraisers, and internal teams through underwriting and closing.
- Monitor loan conditions, pipeline activity, and portfolio performance.
- Assist with closing activities and improvements to underwriting processes.
- Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial banking, CRE lending, underwriting, credit analysis, or portfolio management.
- Strong commercial real estate underwriting and financial analysis experience.
- Knowledge of DSCR, LTV/LTC, cash flow analysis, collateral valuation, and credit risk.
- Experience preparing credit or investment memoranda and loan approval packages.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Bridge and/or construction lending experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.
