Role Description The Junior Data Engineer role at Blownfibre is a full-time remote position responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in building and optimizing ETL processes, collaborating with senior engineers to implement data models, and helping to maintain data warehouses for reliable storage and retrieval. The role involves monitoring data workflows, performing basic data quality checks, and contributing to documentation of data systems and standards. The Junior Data Engineer will work closely with data analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and efficiently processed for business and technical use.

Qualifications

• Data Engineering and Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills to build and maintain reliable data pipelines.
• Data Modeling and Data Warehousing skills to design and support structured, scalable data storage solutions.
• Data Analytics skills to understand data usage, support reporting needs, and validate data quality.
• Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python).
• Experience or coursework with cloud data platforms or databases (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment with clear communication and time management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
