Role Description The Junior Data Analyst (Entry / Junior Level) will support ongoing research and organizational projects by collecting, cleaning, and organizing data related to animal behavior studies and associated activities. Day-to-day tasks include running basic analyses, preparing datasets, and assisting in the creation of charts, tables, and dashboards for internal reports and scientific communications. The role involves collaborating with researchers to understand data requirements, documenting methods clearly, and helping to ensure data quality and consistency. The Junior Data Analyst will also contribute to summarizing key findings for presentations or publications and maintaining structured data repositories. This is a part-time remote role, offering flexibility for students or early-career professionals to gain experience in a scientific environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and foundational Data Analytics capabilities.
Candidates should possess basic to intermediate knowledge of Statistics and Data Modeling.
Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic proficiency with spreadsheets or data tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, R, Python, or similar) is beneficial.
Interest in animal behavior, biology, or related scientific fields is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with diverse teams.
Enrollment in or completion of a degree in statistics, data science, biology, psychology, or a related discipline is an asset.
