Role Description The Jr IT Business Analyst role is a contract position based in Asheville, NC, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows for a combination of on-site and work-from-home activities. In this role, the analyst will support the documentation and analysis of business requirements, assist in mapping and improving business processes, and help translate stakeholder needs into clear functional specifications. Day-to-day tasks include gathering information from business and technical teams, preparing reports and workflows, supporting the evaluation of IT solutions, and assisting with testing and implementation activities. The analyst will collaborate closely with senior analysts, project managers, and technology teams to ensure solutions align with business goals and deliver value to clients.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence-based recommendations.
Candidates should possess Business Analysis and Business Requirements skills to gather, document, and validate stakeholder needs and functional specifications.
Candidates should possess Business Process skills to map workflows, identify inefficiencies, and support process improvement initiatives.
Candidates should possess Information Technology knowledge to understand basic system architectures, software development lifecycles, and integration concepts.
Additional beneficial qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
Familiarity with common business analysis tools (such as process modeling or requirements management tools) and basic understanding of project management practices is an advantage.
