• Role Title: IT Business Systems Analyst
• Duration: initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension
• Preferred Location: Local to Greenwood Village, Denver, CO office (Tues-Thurs onsite)

Role Description:

The IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting enterprise business applications and web platforms. This position analyzes business processes, documents requirements, identifies system gaps, supports application enhancements, resolves production issues, and provides hands-on WordPress/web development support.

The role works closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, developers, and vendors to translate business needs into functional and technical solutions while supporting Salesforce, ERP-related systems, WordPress websites, databases, DevOps pipelines, and legacy-to-modern platform migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Analysis & Requirements
• Gather, analyze, document, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements.
• Perform gap analysis and identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and business processes.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, process flows, data flows, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Support feasibility analysis, needs assessments, cost/benefit analysis, and migration planning from legacy systems to new applications.
• Work with lead BSAs, developers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and support solution design.
• Application & Web Development Support
• Maintain and enhance WordPress websites, including core development, plugin API, themes, and custom functionality.
• Develop and troubleshoot web solutions using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and MySQL.
• Analyze WordPress source code, document deviations from best practices, and implement remediation plans.
• Troubleshoot performance issues such as long load times, inefficient queries, plugin conflicts, and hosting-related problems.
• Support IIS, Apache, and Linux-based environments, including migration from IIS-hosted WordPress to Apache on Linux.
• QA, Production Support & Optimization
• Create and execute UAT plans, test cases, and production validation activities.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and confirm solutions meet business objectives.
• Diagnose and resolve application, website, database, and production support issues.
• Provide post-implementation support, user guidance, and continuous improvement recommendations.
• Maintain documentation for system changes, features, processes, releases, and support procedures.
• DevOps & Release Management
• Support Git repositories, source control practices, Azure DevOps pipelines

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Web Developer, Application Support Analyst, or similar hybrid role.
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, gap analysis, process documentation, testing, and production support.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress development, including plugins, themes, customization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and MySQL.
• Experience with IIS, Apache, Linux command line, Git, and Azure DevOps release pipelines.
• Ability to analyze source code, identify technical debt, document findings, and implement improvements.
• Strong documentation, communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
