IT Business System Analyst (Finance & Accounting)

• This is a 6-12 month contract with high possibility of contract-to-hire.
• 4/days a week onsite in Long Beach, CA.
• No 3rd party vendors.

We are partnering with a reputable logistics organization who is seeking an IT-focused Business Systems Analyst/Project Manager to partner closely with Finance leadership, including a newly appointed CFO. This individual will evaluate and document the organization’s current financial systems, workflows, integrations, and business processes while identifying opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automation.

• Key Responsibilities
• Lead discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews with Finance, Accounting, IT, and other business teams.
• Document current-state financial and IT processes, workflows, system dependencies, integrations, and pain points.
• Create process maps, business and functional requirements, user stories, and supporting project documentation.
• Identify process gaps and recommend practical future-state improvements.
• Serve as the liaison between Finance stakeholders, IT teams, software vendors, and executive leadership.
• Coordinate project plans, priorities, timelines, risks, action items, and stakeholder communications.
• Support financial system enhancements, integrations, implementations, and process-improvement initiatives.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, IT Business Analyst, or Project Manager.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Finance or Accounting teams and financial technology projects.
• Strong process-discovery, requirements-gathering, workflow-mapping, and documentation skills.
• Ability to translate financial business needs into clear technical requirements.
• Experience working across Finance, IT, vendors, and executive leadership.
• ERP experience is preferred; experience with a particular ERP platform is not required.
• Familiarity with financial processes such as AP, AR, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, or financial close is highly desirable.
