• About the Role
• James Search Group is partnering with a boutique investment bank focused on lower to middle market companies to hire an Investment Banking Analyst in New York City. This role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of capital markets transactions, including private placements, PIPEs, SPAC-related transactions, growth equity raises, bridge financings, and IPO execution, with additional exposure to select M&A mandates.

You’ll work directly with senior bankers in a lean, entrepreneurial environment, supporting founder-led and closely held businesses as they access capital and navigate key liquidity and growth events.

• About the Client
• Our client is a well-established boutique investment bank specializing in capital raising and strategic advisory for lower middle market companies, typically ranging from $10M–$150M in enterprise value. The firm is known for its hands-on execution, strong investor relationships, and access to private equity, family offices, hedge funds, and institutional capital providers.

• What You’ll Be Doing
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, cap tables, dilution analyses, and transaction scenarios across equity and debt financings
• Support execution of private placements, PIPE transactions, SPAC mergers/de-SPAC processes, bridge financings, and IPOs
• Prepare high-quality investor materials, including pitch decks, investor presentations, CIMs, and management presentations
• Conduct investor targeting and market research, identifying relevant private equity firms, hedge funds, family offices, and credit investors
• Assist in managing fundraising processes, including investor outreach tracking, Q&A coordination, and virtual data room management
• Analyze company financials and key performance metrics to position opportunities effectively for investors
• Participate in investor calls, management meetings, and transaction discussions alongside senior bankers
• Support select M&A transactions as part of broader capital strategy engagements

• What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
• 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, or transaction advisory; exposure to equity/debt raises, PIPEs, or SPAC transactions is a strong plus
• Strong financial modeling skills, particularly around capital structure, dilution, and transaction analysis
• Experience preparing polished, investor-facing materials in PowerPoint
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple live processes simultaneously
• Strong interest in capital markets and working with lower middle market, founder-led businesses
• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with clients and institutional investors
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team
