  • Title: Investment Analyst
  • Company Summary: A Washington DC-based private investment firm is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its dynamic team. The firm specializes in lower-middle market secondary and co-investments across a diverse range of industries. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a lean, highly acquisitive team, offering early and significant responsibility, hands-on deal experience, and exposure to all aspects of the investment process.
  • The Investment Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Execution of broader market and industry research
  • Financial modeling, valuation analysis, and returns analysis for various investment targets
  • Take point on due diligence processes
  • Monitor existing investment portfolio
  • Analyze fund performance, portfolio construction, and underlying company metrics
  • Support fundraising activities and broader firm initiatives
  • The Investment Analyst should have the following qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience evaluating venture capital and/or growth equity funds
  • 1-2 years of Investment Banking or Wealth Management experience
  • 1-3 years of Transaction Advisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
  • Strong interest in venture sectors such as software, fintech, healthcare, frontier technologies, blockchain, and AI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts into clear investment insights
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and sound investment judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with AI tools used in research and analysis (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity)
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools is a plus
  • For Associate-level candidates: proven ability to lead investment processes with limited supervision and strong relationship-building skills
