Investment Analyst

Frachtis is an early-stage crypto venture fund investing at the intersection of crypto and AI. We back teams building what frontier models and incumbents can’t easily replicate. We’re hiring an Investment Analyst to work directly with the partners across sourcing, diligence, and research.

• What you’ll do
• Source early-stage opportunities across crypto infrastructure, DeFi, agent-native products, AI x crypto, fintech, post-quantum security, and consumer/social
• Triage inbound, track pipeline, and surface companies before they become mainstream
• Write investment memos, market maps, competitive landscapes, and diligence summaries that hold up under partner scrutiny
• Run founder diligence and reference work
• Use AI and internal tools for dealflow triage, research synthesis, candidate filtering, and portfolio monitoring. This is core to the role, not adjacent to it
• Support portfolio companies with research and market work
• Who you are
• Ambitious, curious, and sharp. Deeply interested in venture investing, especially in crypto
• A strong independent researcher who forms differentiated views, has conviction and can defend/ update them when wrong. You read primary sources, e.g. whitepapers, paper, protocol docs and code, not summaries, and you research with a plan and a way to measure whether you’re right
• You arrive with a real network in crypto founder or research circles. Deals, intros, and references already find you, you’re not planning to build a network on the job
• AI-native, you know how to use AI and agents to research, track pipeline, and help in your daily workflow
• Comfortable going deep on technical topics (cryptography, consensus, ZK, agent infra) and commercial topics (market sizing, GTM, unit economics) in the same week. Your crypto depth predates this application
• An eloquent and concise writer. You can compress a complicated company into a page without losing what matters
• High agency, low ego. You unblock yourself, ask for help when stuck, and don’t need to be managed
• You want to work closely with a small team that holds itself to a high standard
• Full time, remote role
• Based in US/ UK/ EU, preference in US

• Nice to have
• Prior experience in crypto, startups, technical research, or investing
• A public body of work: writing, a podcast, open-source contributions, agents or tools you’ve shipped, a published thesis
• Prior investing activity of any size, angel checks, DAO/treasury decisions, scout work

• Frachtis was founded by Xavier Meegan, former CIO of Chorus One and consists of investment partner Brian Crain (former CEO and co-founder of Chorus One) and COO Adina Fischer (former a16z crypto).
