Contract Duration: 1 Month Contract (Short-term data center support coverage with potential for extension)
Shift Structure: First Shift | Type 1 Shift, Monday through Friday (Must be flexible to support 24x7 rotation or on-call duties if needed)
Pay Rate: $28.00 - $30.00/hr on W2

Job Description: Our client, a global pioneer in heavy machinery and advanced manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Specialist II to join their IT Data Center Operations team in Moline, IL. In this key technical role, you will be responsible for real-time monitoring, event management, change triaging, and operational support across enterprise IT infrastructure and application domain systems. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure engineering teams to analyze system alerts, resolve low-to-medium complexity infrastructure issues, and ensure high uptime across data center systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Monitoring & Triage: Actively monitor enterprise IT infrastructure, servers, and data center environments; identify, report, and triage infrastructure changes and system alerts within established protocols.
Incident & Change Management: Execute practical event, incident, and change management processes to minimize system downtime and maintain business continuity.
Problem Analysis & Troubleshooting: Apply technical information analysis to troubleshoot and resolve low-to-medium complexity infrastructure problems.
Component Evaluation: Assist in evaluating, selecting, and applying appropriate IT infrastructure components within a diverse enterprise technology footprint.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with functional business leads, technical infrastructure domain owners, and external suppliers on tactical IT issues and operational updates.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on enterprise IT infrastructure support experience (Note: Standard helpdesk/service desk-only experience is NOT sufficient).
Monitoring & Event Management: Proven track record in real-time infrastructure monitoring, event logging, incident response, and change management.
Domain Knowledge: Strong practical understanding of infrastructure and application domain topologies, data center hardware, networking fundamentals, and server environments.
Analytical Triage: Demonstrated ability to analyze log files, system metrics, and technical data to isolate and resolve infrastructure issues.
Communication & Flexibility: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment and support on-call or 24x7 rotation as business needs dictate.
Education: Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent practical experience.
Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):
Previous experience supporting data center operations, mainframes, or enterprise server farms.
Familiarity with enterprise ITSM ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and ITIL incident/change workflows.
