Position: Security Analyst – Application Security Consultant
Duration: 6-month assignment (contract)
Client Location: Montreal, QC (Services primarily delivered remotely; onsite PI meetings may occur once or twice a month)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Security Analyst – Application Security Consultant to support a large-scale enterprise Application Security transformation initiative. The engagement involves working closely with Application Security Architects, DevSecOps Engineers, Software Developers, and Platform teams to strengthen application security posture across modern software delivery pipelines. The consultant will focus on vulnerability management, secure development practices, and the adoption of application security tooling, helping to embed security-by-design principles throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Services to be Provided
Application Security Analysis & Risk Management
Analyze application security risks and vulnerabilities across cloud-native and enterprise environments.
Perform triage, prioritization, and remediation tracking of security findings.
Assess effectiveness of existing security controls and recommend improvements.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring vulnerabilities and identify systemic gaps.
Support secure architecture reviews and threat modeling exercises.
Validate security solutions and recommend optimal controls, tooling, and processes.
Security Tooling & Vulnerability Management
Configure, deploy, and optimize application security tools, including Aqua Security and Snyk.
Review outputs from SAST, SCA, container scanning, IaC scanning, and secrets detection tools.
Tune policies, reduce false positives, and improve developer adoption of security tools.
Monitor vulnerability trends and develop reporting dashboards for stakeholders.
Support modernization and migration initiatives related to AppSec tooling and processes.
Developer Enablement & Security Adoption
Collaborate directly with development teams to explain findings and guide remediation efforts.
Promote secure coding practices and raise security awareness.
Integrate security requirements earlier in the SDLC.
Support governance, compliance requirements, and secure development standards.

Expertise Required
5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, including at least 3 years in Application Security.
Strong hands-on experience with Aqua Security and/or Snyk in enterprise environments.
Proven experience integrating application security tools into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
Strong understanding of:
SAST, SCA, DAST, container security, and IaC scanning
OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Vulnerability management and remediation workflows
Experience assessing risks and validating security controls in cloud-native and CI/CD environments.
Ability to clearly communicate security findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have
Experience with DevOps / CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Container security knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform).
Experience with SIEM/monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog).
Relevant certifications (CSSLP, CISSP, Security+, GWAPT).
