• Location: GTA (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite, 55 John Street)

• Extension Opportunity: Additional 6 months possible

• Compensation: $67.50/hr T4 – $85.00/hr INC (depending on skills and experience)

• Stafingo is supporting our client in the GTA in recruiting an Intermediate IT Business Analyst to support a major Public Digital Evolution initiative focused on modernizing digital services, web portals, customer-facing applications, and online service delivery capabilities.
• This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst who thrives in enterprise environments, enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams, and has experience translating business needs into scalable digital solutions.

Role Overview :

The successful candidate will support the modernization of a large-scale public digital platform, improving user experience, navigation, search capabilities, content organization, accessibility, and digital service delivery.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, application owners, cybersecurity teams, architects, developers, UX designers, and delivery teams to analyze current capabilities, define future-state solutions, and deliver high-quality digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities :

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis
• Lead discovery sessions and requirements workshops with business, technology, architecture, and application teams.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
• Develop:
• Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
• Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
• Non-Functional Requirements (NFR)
• Epics
• User Stories
• Acceptance Criteria
• Perform gap analysis between current-state processes and future-state digital capabilities.
• Translate business objectives into actionable requirements for technical teams.
• Agile Delivery & Project Support
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including:
• Sprint planning
• Backlog refinement
• Daily stand-ups
• Sprint reviews
• Retrospectives
• Collaborate with Product Owners to define backlog priorities.
• Support creation and refinement of Jira/Confluence user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure backlog items meet Definition of Ready and Definition of Done standards.
• Process Mapping & Documentation
• Develop current-state and future-state process models.
• Create workflow diagrams, business process maps, system interaction diagrams, and data flow documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and digital service optimization.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with:
• Business units
• UX designers
• Service designers
• Cybersecurity teams
• Application owners
• Development teams
• QA teams
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
• UX & Digital Service Delivery
• Work closely with UX and service design teams to understand user needs.
• Translate wireframes, user journeys, and content design requirements into actionable development requirements.
• Support improvements related to:
• User navigation
• Search capabilities
• Content categorization
• Accessibility standards
• Online service experiences
• AI-enabled digital capabilities
• Testing & Quality Assurance Support
• Support QA activities by reviewing test cases and validating requirements coverage.
• Participate in UAT planning, execution, defect review, and solution validation.
• Ensure delivered solutions align with business requirements.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain project documentation including:
• Requirements traceability matrices
• RAID logs
• Status reports
• Workshop outcomes
• Process documentation
• • Provide clear communication and recommendations to project leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience :

• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience within large, complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Agile and Hybrid delivery projects.
• Strong experience with:
• Requirements elicitation
• BRD/FRD documentation
• User stories and acceptance criteria
• Stakeholder workshops
• Process mapping
• Workflow modelling
• Gap analysis
• Experience collaborating with UX designers and digital service teams.
• Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively.
• Experience supporting:
• Testing activities
• UAT planning
• Requirement validation
• Solution delivery
• Proficiency with BA tools including:
• Jira
• Confluence
• Azure DevOps
• Microsoft Visio or similar process modelling tools

Preferred Experience :

• Public sector experience preferred.
• Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience with customer-facing applications, web portals, or online service platforms.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and digital service best practices.
