Referment is working with a global investment and technology firm seeking an Analytics Developer for its human-capital function. The team uses employee data to answer operational and strategic talent questions, and this role combines software development, reporting and analysis rather than sitting solely in either engineering or HR.
You’ll act as both developer and product owner for important analytics tools. The work includes building Python-based reporting, dashboards for senior leaders and the supporting data pipelines, while helping maintain the technical foundations of compensation reporting.
The Role
- Develop automated reporting and analytics solutions, primarily in Python.
- Build dashboards and other reporting products from the ground up for senior business leaders.
- Contribute to ETL pipelines and initiatives that improve the team’s reporting infrastructure.
- Maintain Python packages, keeping code reliable, clear and well documented.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, improve processes and support the continuing development of analytics tooling.
- Use Git and GitHub for version control, collaborative development and code review.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis in partnership with human-capital and related teams.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical, quantitative or related discipline.
- One to three years’ experience using Python to build and maintain code, together with SQL and GraphQL for data querying and transformation.
- Practical experience with Git and GitHub, including collaborative review workflows.
- The ability to troubleshoot technical problems, manage operational tasks and deliver accurate analysis in a fast-moving environment.
- Clear communication, close attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- The judgement to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
An interest in generative AI and in progressing towards more advanced analytics and data-science work will be valuable. You should also be comfortable adapting when priorities change.
This could suit an early-career analytics engineer, Python developer, BI developer or data analyst who enjoys owning useful internal products and working closely with non-technical stakeholders.
