Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Heirship Analyst. The Heirship Analyst will research and analyze property ownership histories, probate records, and legal documents to determine accurate heirship and chain of title. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing deeds, wills, estates, and court filings; preparing clear heirship reports and title summaries; and identifying curative issues and recommending solutions. The role involves collaborating with project managers, landmen, attorneys, and clients to clarify ownership interests, meet project deadlines, and ensure compliance with company standards. The Heirship Analyst will maintain organized records, utilize relevant databases and software, and uphold strict confidentiality and attention to detail in all work products.

Qualifications

  • Experience with title research, abstracting, and reviewing land and mineral ownership records in energy or real estate sectors.
  • Knowledge of probate, estate, and heirship processes, including interpretation of wills, intestate succession, and related legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex ownership scenarios and identify curative issues.
  • Proficiency with document management tools, online public record systems, and common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare clear, concise reports and explain findings to stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in land services, title examination, or related legal/paralegal work is strongly preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Real Estate, Energy Management, Paralegal Studies, or similar) is beneficial.
