Guidewire Data Architect

About the Role:

Rockwoods is looking for a Guidewire Data Architect to design and build data solutions for our PolicyCenter and BillingCenter environment. This role focuses on data architecture, migrations, and integrations—not application development.

You'll own data modeling, ETL/ELT design, Guidewire DataHub strategy, and complex system migrations. You'll work on real enterprise data challenges: mapping legacy systems to Guidewire, designing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and building scalable architecture.

Must-Have:

• 12+ years with Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter data models
• 9+ years in data architecture, data modeling, or data engineering
• Real hands-on experience with Guidewire migrations (legacy → Guidewire)
• Expertise in ETL/ELT, data mapping, and dimensional modeling
• Hands-on Guidewire DataHub experience (data extraction, integration, modeling)
• Advanced SQL; Python or Java for data processing
• Database experience: Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, or cloud platforms

Nice-to-Have:

• Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
• Modern ETL tools (dbt, Fivetran, Informatica)
• Insurance or P&C domain knowledge
• Data governance and metadata frameworks

• What You'll Do
• Design source-to-target data models for migrations and integrations
• Map legacy policy, billing, and account data into Guidewire structures
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Lead Guidewire DataHub strategy and downstream analytics integration
• Perform data quality checks and reconciliation across systems
• Architect data warehouse/lake solutions supporting reporting and analytics
• Mentor team members on data architecture best practices.
