A leading organization within the utility and energy industry is hiring multiple GIS Analysts for a 100% remote, long-term contract opportunity. This position will focus on GIS mapping and data validation using ESRI/ArcGIS Pro, including location verification, map corrections, As-Builts, and utility asset mapping. Candidates must be available to work full-time during Central Time business hours.

This is a great opportunity for GIS professionals looking for long-term stability and continued growth rather than a short-term project. The team is looking for detail-oriented, analytical GIS professionals who enjoy investigating mapping discrepancies and ensuring data accuracy. Consultants will have the opportunity to support multiple types of GIS initiatives and expand their experience across service line mapping, As-Builts, and map updates.

  • Required Skills & Experience
  • 2–3+ years of hands-on GIS experience
  • Experience with ESRI and ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience researching and analyzing maps for validation, correction, and/or As-Built updates
  • Basic mapping, plotting, and query application skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and research mapping discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time during Central Time business hours
  • Windows-based home computer system and second monitor suitable for remote work
  • Desired Skills & Experience
  • Utility, pipeline, or service line mapping experience
  • Experience with As-Built mapping and map corrections
  • Experience with location or asset verification
  • LocusView experience
  • Experience working with utility GIS data
  • What You Will Be Doing/ Daily Responsibilities
  • Supporting GIS location and asset verification initiatives
  • Reviewing and analyzing existing maps for incomplete or inaccurate information
  • Researching discrepancies and documenting corrected GIS information
  • Performing mapping, plotting, and GIS queries
  • Supporting service line mapping before transitioning into As-Built and/or map update work
  • Validating and updating utility and pipeline-related mapping information
  • Working independently in a remote environment while meeting established quality and productivity goals
