This team conducts fundamental, data-driven analysis across a broad array of industries to invest in the equities of publicly traded and privately owned companies, and is dedicated to advancing investment research by integrating agentic AI tools into core analyst workflows. The role offers the chance to build practical solutions that enable faster insights and greater coverage across the investment universe, directly shaping how AI transforms fundamental investing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
- Analyze and map current research processes by collaborating closely with analysts and portfolio managers to identify repetitive or high-friction tasks.
- Redesign investment research workflows using agentic AI tools, rethinking steps such as idea sourcing, document synthesis, screening, and model maintenance.
- Rapidly prototype and deploy AI-powered solutions—leveraging tools like Claude Code—to automate and enhance daily research activities.
- Iterate on prototypes based on direct feedback from the investment team, refining tools to ensure adoption and measurable impact.
- Document and package successful workflows for broader team use, and share best practices to raise overall AI fluency within the group.
- Ensure all solutions comply with data licensing, information barriers, and firmwide compliance standards.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A bachelor’s degree in any field and demonstrated experience building with agentic AI tools (such as Claude Code), including hands-on development of functional prototypes.
- Proficiency in reading, modifying, and debugging code, and comfort working with APIs, data feeds, and lightweight scripting (e.g., Python).
- Solid understanding of the fundamental investment research process, including familiarity with financial models, thesis development, and monitoring.
- Keen product and process orientation, with the ability to translate user needs into practical, usable tools for a fast-paced investment environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, commercial judgment, and the ability to operate independently amid ambiguity.
- Experience with financial data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ) and prior work building internal tools or automations is preferred.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $130,000 to $170,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
