• About the Role
• We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in Fixed Income Asset Management to join our growing team at a leading financial firm in Newark, NJ. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders — including portfolio managers, analysts, and quants — and the technology team, translating complex business needs into actionable technical solutions.

• Key Responsibilities
• ▸ Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
• ▸ Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for the development team
• ▸ Support the implementation of fixed income front office systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business needs
• ▸ Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and verify that solutions meet business expectations
• ▸ Develop and maintain project documentation including functional specifications, use cases, and process flows
• ▸ Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to manage timelines and deliverables, ensuring objectives are met on time and within scope

Qualifications

Experience: 3–10 years as a Business Analyst within financial services, with a focus on fixed income asset management

Core Skills:

• Strong understanding of fixed income products: bonds, derivatives, and related instruments
• Python proficiency for prototyping and analysis, including AI-assisted development
• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Effective collaborator across both technical and business stakeholder teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools

Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related field. CFA, FRM, or equivalent certifications are a plus.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with portfolio management systems such as Aladdin or similar platforms
• Familiarity with data management and reporting tools in an asset management context
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting fixed income asset management
