  • About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Project Manager to lead all financial, budgeting, and cost control aspects of a large-scale hyperscale data center construction project. This senior role will serve as the financial steward of the project, ensuring rigorous budget oversight, accurate forecasting, cost optimization, and strategic financial reporting while working closely with the Project Executive, owner’s representatives, and delivery teams.
  • The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in construction finance and project controls for mission-critical facilities. You will focus on protecting project margins, driving financial performance, and providing clear visibility into costs, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle—from preconstruction through commissioning.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership & Project Controls
  • Own the full financial management of the project, including budget development, cost forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysis.
  • Lead project financial execution plans, ensuring alignment with client goals, contractual requirements, and data center delivery standards.
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison to the owner’s representatives and executive stakeholders, delivering timely and strategic financial updates.
  • Budget & Cost Management
  • Oversee all project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and change order impacts with a focus on cost-effectiveness and risk mitigation.
  • Perform detailed cost tracking across design, construction, MEP systems, site infrastructure, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify financial risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations to maintain or improve project financial performance.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
  • Prepare and present executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and forecasts for internal leadership and the client.
  • Translate complex cost and schedule data into actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Manage financial aspects of change orders, claims, and scope adjustments in real time.
  • Design-Build & MEP Financial Oversight
  • Collaborate with design-build partners, engineering teams, and construction managers to ensure financial alignment on MEP systems, civil/site development, and critical infrastructure packages.
  • Review design deliverables and construction plans from a cost and value engineering perspective.
  • Support commissioning and closeout activities with accurate financial tracking and final cost reporting.
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Monitor project financial health through regular schedule and cost analysis (using Primavera P6, cost management tools, etc.).
  • Lead financial elements of project meetings and coordination sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, contract terms, and internal financial controls.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in construction finance, project controls, or financial project management, with significant focus on large-scale data center or mission-critical projects.
  • Proven track record managing multi-hundred-million-dollar construction budgets in design-build or integrated project delivery environments.
  • Strong experience working with or supporting owner’s representatives on complex infrastructure projects.
  • Deep knowledge of construction cost management, MEP systems estimating, change management, and financial forecasting.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), cost management platforms, Procore, Bluebeam, and financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both executive and technical audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience on hyperscale data center projects for large technology clients.
  • PMP, CPA, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • OSHA 30 and familiarity with high-risk construction environments.
