# Financial Accounting Analyst – Subscription

The Controllership team supports the accounting and financial reporting needs of the company's subscription business.
## About the Role
The Walt Disney Company's Controllership team is seeking a Financial Accounting Analyst to support the accounting and financial reporting activities associated with its subscription offerings, including SVOD, Live TV, and Premium Add-On services.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting with direct exposure to the Director, this role is ideal for a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interested in accounting, financial analysis, process improvement, and efficiency initiatives.
## Key Responsibilities
- * Support accounting activities for SVOD, Live TV, and Premium Add-On subscription offerings.
- * Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for key balance sheet and expense accounts during quarter-end close.
- * Review distribution, bundling, and carriage agreements.
- * Work with the SFAA to operationalize contractual terms for monthly and quarterly license fee, revenue share, and bounty fee accruals.
- * Prepare monthly statement calculations.
- * Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with internal and external business partners.
- * Perform analytical reviews and variance analyses for key financial and operating metrics.
- * Troubleshoot accounting issues within systems and propose solutions to management.
- * Use judgment to determine when accounting issues should be escalated.
- * Identify process improvement opportunities, including the use of AI and efficiency tools such as Alteryx.
- * Help test and implement process improvement solutions.
- * Operate internal controls effectively.
- * Support updates to SOX process documentation as needed.
- * Provide support during the annual financial statement audit.
- * Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and business initiatives.
## Required Qualifications
- * At least 1 year of experience in public accounting.
- * Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- * Proficiency with Microsoft business applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- * Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- * Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
## Preferred Qualifications
- * Prior accounting or auditing experience.
- * CPA or CPA candidate.
- * Industry experience in media and/or entertainment.
- * Experience with SAP Financials.

## Education & Experience
- * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- * Minimum 1 year of public accounting experience required.
- * Prior accounting or auditing experience is preferred.

## Compensation & Benefits
- * California hiring range: **$79,100–$96,500 per year**.
