About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and partner closely with our Research & Development (R&D) organization. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and optimizing the financial aspects of our IoT product development efforts. Your primary focus will be on analyzing Cloud, Cellular, and AI infrastructure costs, providing insights to identify cost-saving opportunities, and supporting financial planning and reporting. You will collaborate with engineering leaders to develop robust reporting and attribution frameworks to track AI-related expenditures effectively. Additionally, you will support month-end close processes, contribute to forecast models, and help improve the accuracy and scalability of financial reporting systems. This position offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates residing in the US or Canada and provides an exciting opportunity to influence the financial strategies of a fast-growing tech company dedicated to transforming physical operations globally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Proven experience at a high-growth technology company
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with senior management
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently
  • Enthusiasm for complex problem solving and financial modeling
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management, SaaS expenses, and AI tools is a plus
  • Experience with FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning and ERP systems like NetSuite is desirable
  • Prior partnership experience with software engineering or technical teams is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering and R&D leaders to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI infrastructure costs
  • Analyze financial results, prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, and support leadership review meetings
  • Collaborate with Accounting on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests
  • Assist in the development and refinement of financial forecasts, budgets, and AOP planning
  • Enhance existing financial reporting and forecasting models for greater accuracy and scalability
  • Create new KPIs, analysis mechanisms, and business performance metrics to inform decision-making
  • Leverage AI tools to automate and streamline financial workflows, reporting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Embed and promote Samsara’s cultural principles—Customer Success, Long-Term Building, Growth Mindset, Inclusivity, and Teamwork—across all initiatives
