Finance Subject Matter Expert LLM Training & Evaluation

Bring elite financial expertise to the frontier of large language model development. This role sits at the intersection of institutional finance and model training, where your judgment directly shapes how reasoning systems understand financial analysis, decision-making, and domain logic.

$65 $90/hr | 35+ hrs/week | Remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Design rigorous, domain-specific finance tasks and produce expert-level written solutions that reflect real-world financial reasoning, including valuation, modeling, and advisory judgment
  • Evaluate LLM outputs against structured rubrics, delivering precise written assessments of correctness, analytical quality, and reasoning integrity
  • Develop and iterate on scoring rubrics and evaluation frameworks calibrated to finance sub-domains (IB, asset management, corporate finance, advisory)
  • Identify and close knowledge gaps in financial reasoning by advising research and engineering teams on how financial professionals actually think and decide
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across training data by collaborating with peer subject matter experts on evaluation standards

Core Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on professional background in investment banking, asset management, corporate finance, or financial advisory at a recognized top-tier institution
  • Demonstrated career progression through successive levels of seniority (e.g., Analyst through VP or Director)
  • Prior direct experience evaluating LLM or automation model outputs against structured rubrics or scoring criteria required; applicants must describe this experience
  • Ability to produce clear, well-reasoned written financial analysis under evaluation conditions, not just verbal or presentation-based fluency
  • Availability to commit reliably to 35+ hours per week during weekday business hours

Additional Strengths

  • Familiarity with evaluation methodology, annotation workflows, or training data quality standards in a technical or research context
  • Exposure to multiple finance sub-domains (e.g., M&A alongside FP&A, or public markets alongside credit) broadening rubric applicability

  • Applications will be carefully reviewed in line with the role requirements.
  • Eligible applicants will be contacted via email with instructions for the next stage.
  • Follow the instructions in the email to complete the remaining application requirements.
