About The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Senior Financial Analyst II to join our Sales Reporting and Analysis team. This pivotal role is responsible for supporting data-driven decision-making processes across our life insurance and annuity product lines. Positioned at the intersection of finance, data analytics, and business strategy, the Senior Financial Analyst will leverage modern data platforms to generate insights that influence product performance, distribution strategies, and overall profitability. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Product, Sales, and Technology to transform complex datasets into actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to impact key business outcomes through advanced analytics and innovative data management practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of experience in finance, analytics, or related fields, with a strong foundation in data analysis and financial modeling. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a quantitative discipline is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Expertise in life insurance and annuity products, including an understanding of product mechanics and distribution channels, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience querying large datasets and working with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or similar. Familiarity with data transformation and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx is also expected. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are vital, along with excellent communication abilities to effectively translate complex data into clear business insights. The candidate must operate with a high degree of independence, accountability, and a proactive mindset to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced insights. Leadership qualities, including mentoring junior team members and influencing cross-team decision-making, are highly valued.
Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst II will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive financial and profitability analytics for life insurance and annuity products across various distribution partners. This includes extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets using SQL and Snowflake to support reporting, forecasting, and strategic insights. The role involves designing and building scalable data models and datasets that facilitate dashboards, automation, and ad hoc analyses, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple sources. Collaboration with Product, Distribution, and Finance teams will be essential to analyze product performance metrics, compensation structures, and sales trends. The analyst will support the development and refinement of profitability models, encompassing revenue streams, expenses, and distribution partner economics. Additionally, translating complex business questions into data-driven analyses and presenting findings to senior stakeholders will be a core function. The role also entails identifying opportunities to streamline data processes, automate reporting workflows, and improve overall data quality, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
