- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst II to support financial planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis, and accounting activities for assigned entities. This role will analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts, identify trends and variances, and provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to organizational leadership.
The Financial Analyst II will also support grant-related financial activities, monthly reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and annual budget preparation.
- Key Responsibilities
- Perform grant-related pre- and post-award financial functions, including revenue and expense analysis, accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Assist departmental leaders with the preparation and review of annual operating budgets.
- Provide guidance to new managers on the use of budget systems and processes.
- Review budget submissions for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness.
- Participate in budget planning meetings and support organizational budgeting initiatives.
- Analyze monthly actual-to-budget results to identify financial trends, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial reports and analyses for management.
- Compile and synthesize financial information for financial statement reviews and other reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations within established deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies in collaboration with appropriate personnel.
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and within established deadlines.
- Provide financial recommendations and insights to leadership based on analysis.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Exercise independent judgment when planning work, analyzing financial information, and determining appropriate actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5–7 years of related experience in financial systems or financial analysis.
- Strong ability to develop and utilize PC-based spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, including variance and actual-to-budget analyses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to make sound financial recommendations to organizational leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established reporting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with budget preparation and financial analysis.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Experience working with grant-related financial processes is a plus.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting preferred.
Compensation & Relocation
- The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000–$80,000 annually, based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates relocating to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.
