- About Transcend
- Transcend delivers innovative, modular technology solutions that solve the financial industry’s most complex challenges—within each business and across the enterprise. Our mission is to help financial firms completely redefine how they manage and think about collateral, leading to increased liquidity, lower costs, and greater compliance.
- About the Role
- Transcend is a growing company that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and efficiency. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst, Finance & Business Operations to help strengthen our financial processes, improve operational efficiency, and support company leadership.
This role will own important day-to-day finance activities while also contributing to broader business operations and selected chief of staff responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between financial analysis, process improvement, administrative coordination, and time-sensitive requests from leadership. This person will help ensure that the business runs smoothly, that management has accurate and timely information, and that key priorities move forward with appropriate follow-through.
You will help drive growth through financial analysis, AI-enabled process improvement, and strategic initiatives. You will learn a lot—and teach us a thing or two, too.
Responsibilities
- Finance and Reporting
- Prepare financial, management, and ad hoc reports.
- Manage QuickBooks, including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and data maintenance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash-flow tracking, and financial analysis.
- Manage AP and AR, monitor aging, follow up on collections, and resolve billing issues.
- Support payroll, audits, tax filings, and other finance-related requests.
- Process Improvement and AI
- Identify and improve inefficient finance and administrative processes.
- Create procedures, checklists, dashboards, and tools that improve accuracy and accountability.
- Use automation and AI-enabled tools, where appropriate, to reduce manual work, improve reporting, and strengthen financial analysis.
- Help evaluate and implement scalable tools and workflows, applying sound judgment, confidentiality, and human review.
- Leadership and Chief of Staff Support
- Support the Chief Administrative Officer and leadership team on priority initiatives.
- Turn leadership priorities into action items, owners, timelines, and status updates.
- Prepare meeting materials, notes, briefings, analyses, and follow-up communications.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and track decisions, dependencies, and commitments.
- Proactively identify issues requiring leadership attention.
- Handle sensitive business, financial, employee, and company information with discretion.
- Company Administration and Business Support
- Support vendor management, compliance, contracts, audits, banking, insurance, and corporate requests.
- Maintain relevant records, documentation, and renewal or payment calendars.
- Contribute to business development research, materials, reporting, and follow-up.
- Support special projects and other operational needs as they arise.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, business operations, or a related role, ideally in a fast-paced or start-up environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and other financial or business systems.
- Experience with accounting practices and methodologies, including GAAP.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, identify trends, and communicate practical recommendations.
- Good understanding of how technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools can improve financial processes and business operations; hands-on experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Additional accounting certifications, such as CPA, are a plus.
- Ability to work onsite at our Piscataway, NJ location three days per week.
- Required Skills and Attributes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and present multiple scenarios and solutions.
- Excellent judgment, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of urgency and priority.
- Strong ownership and accountability, with the ability to work independently and follow through to completion.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a changing, fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Able to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly, collaborative, and team-oriented, with a genuine interest in helping the business operate efficiently.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Why Join Transcend?
- This is an opportunity to join a growing company where your work will have visible impact. You will contribute to the accuracy and strength of our financial operations, help leadership execute important priorities, and play a hands-on role in building more efficient and scalable ways of working.
