About The Role

The Financial Analyst position at University Health plays a critical role in managing and reporting the fiscal operational functions of the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, operational indicator analysis, and report writing to support strategic decision-making. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including administration, medical leadership, and fiscal services, to gather, analyze, and report data that influence management actions. The analyst will be actively involved in the operating budget process, variance analysis, and maintaining data loads within the financial reporting system. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of a prominent healthcare organization.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. A minimum of four years of relevant experience, preferably within a healthcare setting, is required. Candidates with a master's degree will be considered favorably. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial reporting systems, and experience with budget development and variance analysis are essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments are also required to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

Management and reporting of the fiscal operational functions and report writing aspects of hospital operations. Such functions include but are not limited to financial reporting, budgeting, operational indicators, provider incentive plans, and report writing. Assists with development of business plans, profitability analysis, and feasibility studies. Also responsible for providing productivity reports and preparing other management reports as desired by leadership. Works collaboratively with University Health administration, medical directors, leadership, and fiscal services. Gather, analyze, and report information necessary for management actions. Analyst will be actively involved in the operating budget, variance analyses process, and will maintain the data loads into the financial reporting system.
