Job Summary:

To support the Finance team and business leaders by providing accurate financial analysis, reporting, project support, and month-end accounting assistance. This role is intended to support operational decision-making through timely analysis, reliable reporting, and hands-on execution of finance and accounting activities.

This role will assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business cases, process improvement projects, and month-end close responsibilities, while developing the commercial and operational knowledge required to grow into a broader business partnering role.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, analysis, and schedules to support business unit reviews and management reporting.
  • Assist with monthly P&L analysis, including identifying key variances, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of budget and forecast schedules in partnership with Finance team members and functional leaders.
  • Maintain and improve reporting files, templates, dashboards, and supporting schedules.
  • Provide timely analysis on results and operational drivers.
  • Month-End Accounting Support
  • Support the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with P&L reviews, variance explanations, and account analysis during close.
  • Support revenue, cost, payroll, intercompany, and balance sheet review processes as assigned.
  • Help ensure month-end schedules are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
  • Assist with reconciliations, close checklists, and follow-up on outstanding accounting items.
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance team members to research discrepancies and resolve close-related questions.
  • Project and Process Support
  • Support finance-related projects, including reporting improvements, system enhancements, integrations, automation, and process documentation.
  • Build and maintain financial models and analysis to support operational projects, business cases, and decision-making.
  • Assist with ROI analysis, cost savings analysis, revenue opportunity analysis, and other ad hoc project work.
  • Help document and improve finance processes, reporting procedures, and recurring workflows.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as a Finance representative in a support capacity.
  • Business Partnering Support
  • Develop an understanding of assigned business units, operational processes, and key performance drivers.
  • Attend selected functional meetings to support financial reporting, capture action items, and assist with follow-up analysis.
  • Provide responsive support to internal customers by answering finance-related questions and preparing requested analysis.
  • Escalate risks, unusual trends, or opportunities for improvement to Finance leadership.
  • Cash Forecasting and Working Capital Support
  • Assist with cash forecasting, payment tracking, and working capital reporting.
  • Support analysis of cash receipts, vendor payments, payroll impacts, and other finance-related cash flow drivers.
  • Help maintain forecast templates and provide updates as requested.
  • Continuous Improvement and Professional Development
  • Proactively look for ways to simplify, automate, or improve reporting and finance processes.
  • Develop knowledge of ERP, business intelligence, reporting, and financial planning tools.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Continuously build technical accounting, financial analysis, and business partnering skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
  • 2–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, FP&A, or a related role.
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to work with large data sets, formulas, pivots, and recurring reporting files.
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles, month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and financial statements.
  • Ability to prepare accurate analysis and clearly explain variances or trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a close or reporting cycle.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple projects, recurring tasks, and ad hoc requests.
  • Experience with ERP, BI, dashboarding, or reporting tools preferred.
