The Role:

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, the Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the organization’s finance function across financial reporting, cash management, and day-to-day accounting activities.

This is a hands-on, team-oriented role designed for an early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in financial reporting and analysis within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The mandate offers broad exposure across the company’s operations, including interaction with actuarial, investments, risk, and compliance teams.

The role is positioned as a supporting analyst seat, with a focus on learning, development, and progressively taking on greater responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of IFRS financial statements, regulatory returns, and financial analyses for senior management and board-level reporting
  • Produce financial analyses and reports for internal stakeholders, including senior leadership and the parent organization
  • Support audit processes by liaising with internal and external auditors, including assistance with SOX compliance requirements
  • Work closely with the broader finance team to support consolidation reporting and ad hoc financial analysis
  • Assist with core accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, subledger maintenance, and accruals
  • Partner with investment teams and external managers to support funding, settlement, and related activities
  • Assist with liquidity management and treasury activities, including cash reporting, forecasting, and monitoring balances
  • Support weekly disbursement processes, including electronic payments, wires, and cheque runs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiencies
  • Assist with business planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities
  • Support tax compliance, forecasting, and planning initiatives
  • Assist in analyzing technical accounting matters and regulatory developments

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 1–2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or related roles
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a small, collaborative team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of motivation, work ethic, and willingness to take initiative
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment with evolving processes and responsibilities
