Financial Analyst – AP & AR

Financial Analyst – AP & AR | Contract | Hybrid – Toronto, ON

Our client, a large well-established organization, is looking to add a Financial Analyst – Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable to their finance team on a contract basis.

• This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, requiring candidates to work in office 4 days per week.
• In this role, you will support day-to-day financial operations across AP and AR, including invoice processing, payments, billing, collections, cash application, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis. You will also help troubleshoot issues, support process improvements, and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and efficiency across financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, including invoice processing, payments, billing, collections, and cash application
• Perform reconciliations across subledgers and general ledger accounts
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve variances in a timely manner
• Support period-end activities, reporting, and financial control processes
• Maintain vendor and customer master data with a strong focus on accuracy
• Assist with process improvements, automation initiatives, testing, and documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and support business requirements

Must-Have Experience:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience supporting AP and/or AR processes
• Strong understanding of invoicing, payments, collections, reconciliations, and financial operations
• ERP experience, ideally SAP S/4HANA or similar systems
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

• Professional accounting designation or working towards one
• Experience with process improvements, automation, testing, or system enhancements
• Previous experience in a large, structured organization
