About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team based in Montreal. This pivotal role involves supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making through comprehensive analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for precision and operational efficiency. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and management, to provide insights that drive business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting roles is required. Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Business Central, or QuickBooks, along with strong skills in reporting tools, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional expertise in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with Quebec and Canadian tax regulations, including GST/QST, DAS, and CNESST, is highly desirable. The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both written and verbal, is necessary to facilitate communication across our diverse team and client base.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive month-end financial statements to ensure accurate reporting of company financials.
  • Perform journal entries and ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage tax remittances, including GST/QST, DAS, and other relevant filings, ensuring timely submission.
  • Conduct payroll processing and reconcile balance sheets to maintain financial integrity.
  • Analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actual results against budgeted targets to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and operational metrics.
  • Conduct profitability, cost, and operational performance analyses to support cost control and efficiency initiatives.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and detailed analyses for management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and operational teams to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal financial regulations, staying current with regulatory changes.
  • Assist in year-end audit preparations and support external auditors during financial reviews.
