About The Role
The Financial Analyst supporting Marketing and Partner Brands at Molson Coors plays a pivotal role in driving financial insights and strategic decision-making within the marketing domain. Based in Chicago and reporting directly to the Director of Finance Marketing, this position involves close collaboration with senior brand leaders, including Vice Presidents, Brand Directors, and Managers. The primary focus of this role is to provide comprehensive financial analysis that supports brand growth initiatives, promotional activities, and investment strategies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, a proactive approach, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that influence brand performance and market success. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's growth by enabling marketing teams to make informed, data-driven decisions that align with overall business objectives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with at least two years of relevant experience, preferably within the beverage or consumer goods industry. A professional accounting designation such as CPA is highly desirable but not mandatory. Experience with SAP, Power BI, and HANA Analysis is advantageous, along with solid proficiency in Excel. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Profit and Loss statements, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for presenting insights effectively to diverse audiences. The ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking, and thrive in a fast-paced environment is crucial. A high level of curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset will set applicants apart.
Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the marketing and promotional packaging lines within the brand P&L, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
- Generate monthly latest estimates (LE) of brand spend, coordinating with brand teams to refine forecasts and ensure accurate financial tracking of current month and quarter performance.
- Provide actionable insights on brand performance by analyzing key metrics such as share, velocity, and distribution at both national and regional levels, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Deliver timely, accurate financial reports and variance analyses comparing actual spend against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, identifying risks and opportunities for the business.
- Oversee and monitor the financial spend related to all brand promotional investments, ensuring adherence to budgets and strategic priorities.
- Conduct business feasibility analyses for promotional projects, evaluating potential returns and conducting post-project reviews to assess goal achievement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as ISC, Materials Planning, FP&A, Analytics, and Commercial COE to execute integrated projects and initiatives like START and ZBB.
- Design and implement procedural improvements to streamline financial processes, leveraging automation and simplifying workflows for marketing teams.
- Challenge existing processes by bringing innovative ideas and sustainable solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial planning and analysis.
- Support the preparation of monthly business reviews, Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUBS), and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) builds, ensuring data accuracy and strategic alignment.
