YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a Fall 2026 intern for the role of Risk Analyst Intern at our partner organization, a leading Canadian-based financial services firm, with additional operations in Europe and the United States. This Canadian-based financial services company offers a broad portfolio of financial and benefit plan solutions for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations.
In this role, support an initiative focused on improving the efficiency, consistency, and quality of core risk management processes. This role will contribute to a series of targeted projects aimed at modernizing how risk information is produced, distributed, and maintained across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the review and improvement of existing risk management processes, identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and efficiency gains.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk culture scorecards and dashboards, including opportunities for automation and improved reporting quality.
- Assist in the preparation, standardization, and distribution of risk environment scan outputs for use in current and emerging risk programs.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of quarterly insider access listings, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely updates.
- Help modernize policy, standard, and guideline templates to improve usability, clarity, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Use Microsoft Office and Power Platform tools (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Power BI) to support reporting, documentation, and workflow improvements.
- Apply AI prompting tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to assist in content generation, analysis, and process enhancement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and ensure deliverables meet risk and compliance standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate-level student from the following universities: University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, York University or Western University.
- Pursuing a Master's degree or a higher degree.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-organized documentation.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Power Platform tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Sway, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with AI tools and prompt engineering (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems such as
- MetricStream is considered an asset.
