• Do you enjoy working in the field while using GIS and GPS technology to support critical infrastructure projects? We're seeking an Engineering Analyst III to join a team supporting major natural gas distribution replacement and construction projects throughout Southeast Michigan.
• This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in gas utilities, GIS, GPS surveying, utility locating, or construction support who wants to play a key role in ensuring accurate utility records and successful field execution.
• What You'll Do
• Support field construction teams on natural gas distribution replacement projects.
• Collect as-built and existing gas asset data using GPS equipment and GIS applications.
• Verify asset locations and document field changes during construction.
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Construction teams to ensure projects are completed accurately.
• Utilize GIS technologies including:
• ESRI ArcGIS Pro
• ArcMap
• ArcGIS Enterprise
• ArcGIS Online
• Field Maps
• Assist with utility locating and positional verification.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings, field demonstrations, and project reviews.
• Maintain documentation, revision control, and data integrity for construction records.
• Travel throughout Southeast Michigan to active construction sites.
• What We're Looking For
• ✔ Experience supporting natural gas distribution or utility construction projects
• ✔ GIS/GPS experience collecting or managing field asset data
• ✔ Ability to read construction drawings and understand utility construction practices
• ✔ Familiarity with:
• ArcGIS Pro
• ArcMap
• GPS equipment
• Survey control
• Utility locating equipment
• ✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
• ✔ Microsoft Office proficiency
• Preferred Qualifications
• ⭐ Utility locating experience
• ⭐ Experience with natural gas distribution systems

• Important Requirements
• Must be available to work 100% onsite.
• Candidates should live within driving distance of Livonia, Macomb, Royal Oak, or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
• No per diem is available.
• Overtime opportunities during busy construction season.
• Must obtain (or already possess) OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification meeting MIOSHA Part 9 requirements.
