Electrical Project Manager – Hyperscale Data Center | Near Chicago, Indiana

I’m partnered with a split general contractor / construction management business delivering a major hyperscale data center development in Northern Indiana, and they are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical delivery across the site.

The project is a 300MW hyperscale data center campus that is progressing into Phase 2. This is a long-term, construction-side role working closely with project leadership, electrical subcontractors, vendors, design teams and the end client.

Key details:

• Location: Near Chicago, Indiana
• Base salary: Up to $200k
• Relocation preferred but option for travel instead
• Potential for return flights home every two weeks if travel and no relocation
• Project: 300MW hyperscale data center campus / Phase 2
• Data center experience: Highly Preferred

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the electrical scope from preconstruction and procurement through installation, commissioning and turnover
• Manage electrical subcontractors, trade partners, vendors and equipment suppliers across the project
• Own electrical budgets, forecasts, change orders, cost reporting, schedule tracking and risk management
• Review electrical drawings, submittals, RFIs, coordination models and installation plans
• Coordinate long-lead electrical equipment, material releases and delivery schedules
• Drive field coordination across electrical, mechanical, structural and civil teams to maintain installation sequence and programme milestones
• Work closely with superintendents to resolve site issues, manage manpower requirements and maintain productivity
• Support QA/QC, inspections, energisation planning, commissioning readiness and final turnover
• Provide regular updates to senior project leadership on cost, schedule, procurement, risks and electrical progress

Ideal background:

• Proven Electrical Project Manager experience delivering large-scale data center construction projects
• Strong construction-side background with a GC, electrical contractor, EPC or construction-management business
• Experience managing major critical-power infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, busway, PDUs and associated electrical works
• Strong commercial ownership across electrical budgets, subcontractor packages, change orders, procurement and project controls
• Comfortable leading multiple electrical trade partners and coordinating complex site activities in a live, fast-paced construction environment
• Data center construction experience is highly preferred for this role
