Are you ready to make a significant impact on the design and delivery of large-scale data centers? We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems for critical infrastructure modules. In this dynamic position, you will support engineering leadership across the entire project lifecycle—from design and construction to assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting manufacturing operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving innovation in a fast-paced, hyperscale environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Approve technical drawings, information, and documentation to ensure compliance with industrial standards for the production of critical infrastructure modules.
  • Participate in and lead design and development planning and review sessions, aligning with customer and industry requirements.
  • Develop technical requisitions for electrical systems, fire systems, and diverse components.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations and provide expert feedback to the procurement team.
  • Produce comprehensive electrical engineering deliverables, including electrical load lists, cable sizing/schedules, and single line diagrams.
  • Design and implement robust earthing protection systems.
  • Conduct lighting studies and design efficient lighting systems.
  • Generate bulk Material Take Offs (MTOs) and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Innovate and find creative solutions to reduce costs while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule integrity.
  • Stay abreast of new developments and requirements, recommending program and application enhancements.
  • Independently interpret, organize, and execute assignments with a high degree of self-sufficiency.
  • Make independent technical decisions and represent the organization in critical resolution meetings.
  • Apply advanced expertise to resolve complex and unique technical challenges.
  • Analyze electrical systems to optimize load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption.
  • Remain current with electrical engineering and data center technology advancements, recommending innovations to enhance product reliability and efficiency.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, professionally addressing inquiries and representing the company in review meetings.
  • Offer crucial technical support during construction, managing RFIs and resolving emergent issues.
  • Participate in job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 2 to 10 years’ experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, with a focus on data center infrastructure.
  • Ability to produce drawings/sketches to illustrate design concepts.
  • General knowledge and direct experience with the construction, operation, and maintenance of data center or building electrical systems.
  • Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power principles, components, procedures, and standards for power system equipment sizing and design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including IEC, IBC, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects and/or multiple significant upgrade projects.
  • Detailed understanding of uninterruptable power sources (UPS), diesel generators, medium and low voltage electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, electrical control systems, low voltage rectification systems, and other critical electrical equipment found within data centers.
  • Mastery knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in ETAP and Dialux.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure and manage task switching effectively.
  • Exceptional work ethic and commitment to high-quality work and due diligence.
  • Ability to express complex ideas effectively in both individual and group situations.
  • Strong ability to organize and express ideas clearly in written documents.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Familiarity with medium and high voltage power distribution systems design.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and system design within data centers affecting electrical scope.
  • Direct experience in negotiating with regulatory agencies regarding code departures and achieving design approval and permitting.
  • Operational knowledge in SAP, Solid Works, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manager / Freedom.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and identify opportunities to enhance the client experience.

Compensation

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $100,000 – $150,000 base, with an additional 10% – 20% performance-based bonus. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
