- Purpose
- · This position is assigned in support of the eDiscovery function within Corporate Legal Operations and reports to the Manager, eDiscovery Operations.
- · The position is responsible for the operation of the organization's internal data processing platform, and for conducting or coordinating with IT/BTS resources to conduct forensic collections of electronic data, ensuring proper handling and storage of data prior to processing and proper disposition of data no longer subject to legal hold.
- · The position works closely with attorneys and paralegals within Corporate Legal.
- Responsibilities
- · Responsible for the efficient operation of the organization's data processing platform, acting as a subject matter resource in the Legal Hold and eDiscovery forensic collections process.
- · Executes all data processing tasks, including indexing, culling, filtering, load file creation, and data export, for data used in litigation, which may reside in a variety of current and legacy formats.
- · Loads data into and operates the organization's document review platform(s), including project support for internal document review.
- · Supports development and implementation of workflow improvements for eDiscovery and legal hold processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- · Performs forensic collection and preservation of data deemed potentially relevant to current or anticipated litigation, coordinating with IT resources as needed to perform and verify successful collection of remote data sources.
- · Prioritizes eDiscovery collection and processing tasks with the Manager, eDiscovery Operations to meet litigation deadlines, ensuring efforts meet the specific needs of each matter,
- · Work with Manager, eDiscovery to troubleshoot any potential issues with forensic collection or data processing as they arise.
- · Verifies successful transfer of litigation data from IT/BTS to the organization's eDiscovery systems while maintaining data integrity.
- · Actively manages litigation data archives to ensure compliance with data preservation obligations.
- · Develops and maintains good working relationships with legal technology vendors and internal IT and Legal teams, facilitating communication to ensure transparency and expected service levels.
- · Continually improves knowledge of industry trends and best practices related to legal collections and eDiscovery.
- · Works on other eDiscovery and litigation support projects as assigned.
- Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
- · Prior experience working in a corporate environment, with an understanding of professional workplace norms, confidentiality expectations, and cross-functional collaboration.
- · Experience working in technical environments.
- · Confident learning new software tools on the job.
- · Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when following structured processes and/or handling sensitive/confidential data.
- · Experience interfacing directly with internal or external clients/stakeholders, with strong client-service orientation and the ability to manage expectations and communicate clearly under deadline pressure.
- · Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and follow through to resolution.
- · Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- · Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- · Prior eDiscovery, litigation support, or legal industry experience is a plus but not required
