  • Are you passionate about building and leading high-performing data engineering organizations that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making?
  • We are seeking a Director, Data Engineering to lead the strategy, development, and operations of enterprise data platforms and engineering capabilities. This role is responsible for driving the delivery, scalability, reliability, and governance of data ecosystems while partnering with cross-functional leaders to ensure trusted, accessible, and business-ready data across the organization.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the data engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives and data product priorities.
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines, platform services, and data integration frameworks supporting both batch and real-time workloads.
  • Ensure data ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery processes are reliable, efficient, observable, and highly available.
  • Drive data platform modernization initiatives and continuously improve architecture, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with architecture and platform teams to establish enterprise standards, best practices, and reusable engineering frameworks.
  • Establish and enforce standards for data quality, governance, lineage, documentation, and platform observability.
  • Partner with security, privacy, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure data protection and adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Data Product, Analytics, BI, and Data Science teams to translate business needs into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Enable downstream consumers with trusted, high-quality, and well-structured data assets.
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and senior data engineers while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Establish key performance metrics and operational benchmarks, including platform reliability, data freshness, service-level objectives, scalability, and cost optimization.
  • Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
  • Promote engineering best practices focused on automation, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in data engineering, data platform development, or related technology domains.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, enterprise-scale platforms, and complex data initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of modern data architectures, cloud-based data platforms, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in designing and operating scalable data pipelines, integration platforms, and analytical data ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across engineering, product, analytics, platform, and security organizations.
  • Experience managing cloud-native data platforms within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, execution management, and program delivery capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, platform reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading large-scale data transformation or modernization programs.
  • Expertise in data governance, metadata management, lineage, observability, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with real-time data processing, streaming architectures, and cloud-native analytics ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements within regulated environments.
  • Experience establishing engineering operating models, performance metrics, and platform service standards.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing data engineering organizations.
  • Relevant technical or cloud certifications.
