• Role Overview
• The Director, Data Engineering leads the design, development, and operation of enterprise data engineering platforms and pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and data products. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and governance of enterprise data systems while leading engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver trusted and accessible data solutions.

• Key Responsibilities
• Own the data engineering roadmap and align delivery with business priorities and data product objectives.
• Lead the design, development, and operation of scalable batch and streaming data pipelines and platform services.
• Ensure data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes are reliable, observable, high-performing, and scalable.
• Drive modernization initiatives for enterprise data platforms while reducing technical debt.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture and platform teams to establish standardized tools, patterns, and reusable engineering frameworks.
• Establish and maintain standards for data quality, observability, lineage, governance, and documentation.
• Partner with security, privacy, and compliance teams to ensure data protection and regulatory alignment.
• Lead and develop engineering managers and senior engineers while tracking operational KPIs, service levels, data freshness, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 8–12 years of experience in data engineering or closely related platform engineering roles.
• 3–5 years of experience leading engineering teams or enterprise-scale data capabilities.
• Strong expertise in modern data architectures, including cloud-based data platforms and batch and streaming data processing.
• Proven experience leading enterprise data engineering platforms within complex technology organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Product, Analytics, Platform, and Security teams while providing strong people leadership and delivery management.
• Experience operating cloud-based distributed data platforms within complex, matrixed enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills, executive presence, and a commitment to ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is based.
