As Director of Analytics Engineering at Current, you will be the strategic architect and hands-on leader of our data transformation layer. You will define the vision for our BigQuery data warehouse, lead a high-performing team of analytics engineers, and partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models that power critical fintech insights.

What You Will Do

• Drive the Analytics Engineering and BI roadmap, owning the P&L for data warehousing, modeling, and business intelligence tools across the entire organization.
• Architect robust dimensional models and data marts in BigQuery using dbt and Airflow, ensuring absolute data integrity for downstream Looker analytics and executive reporting.
• Scale and mentor a world-class team of analytics engineers, including distributed offshore members, while defining technical career ladders and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

The ideal candidate

• Brings 10+ years of experience in data architecture or analytics engineering, including 5+ years leading high-velocity teams within enterprise-grade data warehouse environments.
• Possesses expert-level mastery of SQL, Kimball/Star Schema methodologies, and modern tooling including dbt, BigQuery, Airflow, and Looker (LookML).
• Demonstrates intermediate to advanced Python skills and deep experience translating complex technical data requirements for non-technical stakeholders in Finance, Credit, and Product teams.
