Role Description This part-time remote Digital Forensics Analyst role at Nature Peinture - RP engagées climat focuses on investigating and analyzing digital incidents to support climate-focused advocacy and communications. The analyst will collect, preserve, and examine digital evidence from various sources, ensuring integrity and proper documentation throughout the process. Day-to-day tasks include performing forensic analysis of devices and systems, conducting malware analysis to identify threats, and preparing clear, factual reports for internal stakeholders and external partners when needed. The role also involves collaborating with cybersecurity and communications teams to assess risk, recommend mitigation strategies, and assist in developing best practices for secure, responsible digital operations. The analyst is expected to work independently, manage multiple case-related tasks, and maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Strong forensic analysis skills, including collection, preservation, and examination of digital evidence
Proficiency in malware analysis and familiarity with common threat vectors and attack techniques
Demonstrated analytical skills for interpreting complex technical data and identifying patterns
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response, and risk mitigation
Experience preparing and managing digital evidence for potential legal, regulatory, or investigative use
Knowledge of digital forensics tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, or similar) and scripting or automation is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, digital forensics, or equivalent practical experience
Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences, both in writing and verbally
Capacity to work independently in a remote environment, with strong organizational and time-management skills
Awareness of ethical, privacy, and legal considerations related to digital investigations; experience in mission-driven or environmental/climate-focused organizations is an asset
