ASSYST is seeking a Demand Analyst to support our client project in Tallahassee, FL.

This is an onsite position

Scope Of Services

The Demand Analyst serves as a liaison between client business offices and Information Technology to intake ideas, refine and document technology proposals in ServiceNow, and support governance activities throughout the proposal lifecycle.

This role is responsible for analyzing business and technology proposals from ideation through project approval while collaborating with stakeholders to translate strategic and operational needs into actionable requirements. The analyst will conduct business needs assessments, assess feasibility and impacts, and help prioritize proposals based on business value, strategic alignment, urgency, complexity, and resource considerations.

The analyst will work closely with business units, technical teams, and leadership to:

  • Gather and document high-level requirements
  • Develop business cases and cost estimates
  • Conduct ROI/TCO and cost-benefit analyses
  • Document risks, assumptions, constraints, and scope
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and supporting materials
  • Maintain proposal documentation in accordance with departmental standards

The role also supports process improvement initiatives by documenting current and future state processes, identifying gaps, and recommending technology or process-based solutions.

The analyst collaborates closely with the Demand/Proposal Manager, who oversees proposal governance and lifecycle management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Categorize and prioritize technology proposals using established scoring criteria
  • Analyze proposal trends, recurring requests, and technical feasibility
  • Coordinate stakeholder identification and facilitate intake meetings
  • Refine submitted ideas into structured proposals with clearly defined:
  • Business objectives
  • Scope
  • Assumptions and constraints
  • Risks and dependencies
  • Research and document client business processes and system interactions
  • Create process maps, workflow diagrams, and business documentation using Visio
  • Complete proposal documentation within ServiceNow, including impacted business units, applications, collaborators, and sizing assessments
  • Translate business strategy and operational goals into business and technical requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solution approaches
  • Assist with buy-versus-build evaluations and modernization efforts
  • Prepare ROI/TCO calculations, cost-benefit analyses, and risk summaries
  • Develop executive-ready presentations and funding support materials
  • Support cybersecurity risk assessment activities when required
  • Collaborate with the Demand/Proposal Manager throughout proposal lifecycle stages
  • Track proposal tasks, assignments, workloads, and timekeeping activities
  • Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in:

  • Business analysis
  • Requirements gathering and documentation
  • Business process analysis
  • Stakeholder facilitation
  • Experience facilitating meetings with executives, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
  • Experience converting ideas into documented proposals within ServiceNow or similar portfolio management tools
  • Proficiency with:
  • Microsoft Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Visio
  • SharePoint
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Experience preparing:
  • Business cases
  • ROI/TCO analyses
  • Cost-benefit assessments
  • Risk summaries
  • Knowledge of translating business requirements into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with Power BI is preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Ability to perform detailed business analysis, scope definition, and requirements documentation
  • Experience conducting as-is and to-be process analysis
  • Ability to document workflows, system interactions, context diagrams, and functional requirements
  • Ability to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Knowledge of application modernization, enhancement, remediation, and development initiatives
  • Experience leveraging both technology solutions and business process improvements

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with business units, leadership, security teams, and technical staff
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain strong collaborative working relationships

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Working knowledge of proposal governance and portfolio workflows in ServiceNow or similar tools
  • Ability to prepare ROI/TCO calculations and risk assessments
  • Advanced proficiency with:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Visio
  • SharePoint
  • Teams
  • Familiarity with Power BI reporting and dashboards preferred
  • Education

Bachelor’s Or Master’s Degree In

  • Business Administration
  • Information Systems
  • Communications
  • Or a related field

Equivalent work experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

The following certifications are preferred but not required:

CBAP

  • PMI-PBA
  • PMI-ACP
  • PMP
  • ITIL
