Data Warehouse Test Engineer

2. About the Opportunity:

The Data Warehouse Test Engineer role is designed to ensure the integrity and functionality of data warehouse systems through rigorous testing. This position is critical for verifying that data processing and AI-driven systems produce accurate, reliable results aligned with business rules and regulatory requirements. The role contributes by identifying and documenting defects, improving data quality, and supporting the ongoing validation of AI and ML applications within the data environment.

3. Responsibilities:

• Design and execute functional, regression, integration, and negative test suites.
• Perform REST API testing, including validation of JSON schemas, HTTP error codes, and streaming responses.
• Develop and run advanced SQL queries in Big Query to validate data across multi-table star schemas.
• Document defects with precise, reproducible reports including SQL queries and result comparisons.
• Interpret banking KPIs and business rules to inform testing scenarios.
• Analyze business questions to determine correct data responses and validate AI system output for semantic accuracy.

4. Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in test engineering focused on data and AI/ML systems.
• Proficiency in REST API testing tools like Postman or pytest.
• Advanced SQL skills with expertise in Big Query Standard SQL, including window functions, CTEs, and complex data structures.
• Strong understanding of retail and commercial banking operations, including AML, KYC, fraud, and compliance.
• Ability to write detailed defect reports with clear reproductions.

Preferred:

• Experience testing LLM-based or natural language to SQL systems.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery and Cloud Run.
• Python scripting for test automation.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts including SCD2 and bitemporal tables.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks like GLBA, FCRA, and SOX.
• Experience in data quality testing and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs or ontologies.
• Automotive finance domain knowledge.
