• Role Overview
• We're looking for a seasoned Data Protection Infrastructure Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in our client's platform to serve as the primary technical resource for a global organization. This is a high-visibility remote engagement requiring strong platform knowledge across DataProtect, SmartFiles, and FortKnox, as well as the maturity to operate independently and communicate effectively with enterprise stakeholders.

• Duties & Responsibilities
• Administer and optimize data protection infrastructure using DataProtect, SmartFiles, Helios or FortKnox
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backup and recovery operations across enterprise workloads
• Implement and manage SmartFiles for unstructured data management, tiering, and governance
• Administer FortKnox for cyber-resilient data vaulting and ransomware recovery readiness
• Support backup operations across VMware, physical servers, and agent-based environments
• Develop and maintain runbooks, architecture documentation, and operational procedures
• Provide best-practice recommendations on data protection strategy, policy design, and recovery testing
• Collaborate with storage, virtualization, security, and compliance teams to meet organizational SLAs
• Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and infrastructure health reporting
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for backup failures or data protection gaps

• Required Experience / Skills
• 5+ years of enterprise data protection / backup infrastructure experience
• Recent, hands-on experience with Cohesity apps like DataProtect, SmartFiles, and FortKnox — non-negotiable
• Strong understanding of enterprise cluster architecture, deployment, and management
• Experience with VMware backup integration (VADP, SAN transport, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with physical server and agent-based backup configurations
• Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting data protection in regulated enterprise environments preferred (pharma, healthcare, or similar)
• Experience with Automation and APIs preferred
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS (S3) are preferred
