Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) including both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, attention to detail and a record of seeing issues through to resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Awareness of “downstream” and “upstream” processes required in operation of an insurance company
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products. SharePoint experience is strongly preferred. Strong Excel Skills required.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Some college (or commensurate industry experience)
  • Plusses:
  • 1-3 years of experience in the insurance industry including on the Underwriting or Operations side
  • Basic understanding of the Property & Casualty regulatory landscape
  • Prior experience with Guidewire Policy Center highly preferred

DAY TO DAY:

  • We are seeking a Guidewire Policy Center (GW) contingent tester for approximately 120 to 150 days. This role can be based in any of the following Sompo offices: Charlotte, NC; Morristown New Jersey; Garden City, NY; Manhattan NY or Chicago.
  • The contingent tester will support the North American Operations team with project and maintenance user acceptance testing (UAT) by handling and/or coordinating tasks needed to assure the company’s policy writing system Guidewire Policy Center (hereinafter referred to as “System”) accurately reflects the Company standard forms and business rules for a number of lines of business including but not limited to Property, Casualty, Automotive, Financial Lines and Ocean Marine.
  • UAT Testing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of manager or senior forms analyst ensures timely and accurate System updates for existing products by:
  • Preparing the output templates compliant with all regulatory requirements, as well as Company Style Guide
  • Supporting IT Business System Analysts, Development, and Quality Assurance teams in implementing submitted changes.
  • Conducting User Acceptance Testing to ensure system implementation is in compliance with requirements
  • System data entry of test cases
  • Comparing policy output between systems
  • Logging and tracking IT Fresh Service tickets for identified testing defects or Change Requests
  • Generating status reports and metrics
  • Maintaining departmental documentation of System requests, as appropriate.
